Starting with the October Insiders Build of Visual Studio Code we have added an easy way to run your Node.js applications on top of the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). Download Visual Studio Code to experience a redefined code editor, optimized for building and debugging modern web and cloud applications. Visual Studio Code is free and available on your favorite platform - Linux, macOS, and Windows. This will create a tasks.json file in the.vscode folder and open it in the editor. Choose C/C clang build active file (or g if you want to build with gcc) to build the file that is currently displayed (active) in the editor.
A dropdown will appear listing various predefined build tasks for the compilers that VS Code found on your machine.
